In reply to the discussion: What if we recruit liberals in populous states to move to low population red states? [View all]PoindexterOglethorpe
(28,493 posts)130. You could not pay me enough money to move to a deep red state.
I chose to move to New Mexico ten years ago and hope to remain here the rest of my life. Clear skies. Do any of you know that right now, just after sunset you can see FOUR planets in the night sky? Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. Very visible. At least they are here at 7,000 feet and with consistently clear skies.
I hate humidity, so I won't voluntarily move to any state in the deep south, or most of the midwest. Snow and winter doesn't scare me at all. But the kind of heat they get in southern Arizona, no thank you. I have lived in both Phoenix and Tucson at different times, and I would never voluntarily return.
So where are you planning to relocate to?

Our former Governor, Craig Benson, was a big advocate of the Free State Project.

So did I. Most of those small population Red States are not bad. I've been to many of them.

Technically it work work, but it's horrendously impractical and would never happen.

Florida is headed blue. My county is pale red, but the trend is purple soon.

Okay, but anyone moving to Mississippi or Alabama needs to get a million dollar bonus.

Not just no, but hell no. Just get the DNC to follow Dean's 50 State Strategy. nt
