agreeing to do this job without the required investigation beforehand, and also of her ability to do it adequately without the results of investigation. She probably has lots of questions she can't ask because she doesn't know the answers. My guess is you're entirely right, that she's being required to follow the Repub senators' plot line and to a real degree forced to fly blind.
