8. No tears /on/ Kavanaugh's cheeks because

he fought hard to keep them at bay...he snuffled and sniffed them back so we could imagine them even though we couldn't see them and we watched in disgust as he kept poking his lying tongue /in/ his cheek instead (unconscious/subliminal message?)
