12. Can't say I feel relief but . . .

I do have a glimmer of hope that this rock will be turned over. Weirdly, my son and I were just talking about this. He thinks this is just a smoke screen, a delay to the inevitable, meaning Kavanugh will ultimately be confirmed. I think he's too cynical; he thinks I'm too hopeful.

Guess we'll find out in short order. I remain hopeful. One thing for sure: we're in far better shape now than we were last night.
