We know now that millions across the nation, at home, 30K feet in the air, were googling "devil's triangle." (How on earth could he smirk and relax back as he told the senator it was like quarters -- did he forget others were watching?)
In any case, it really sounds like no one in your group, willfully or otherwise, misunderstood in the least his refusal to ask the FBI to clear his name. And even beyond all the various obvious perjuries, that's the big thing.
