Gamble v. US seems to be a really important case that has implications about state vs. federal prosecution. Depending on how it is decided it could severely limit state's ability to prosecute if the feds decide to take precedent. This could effectively keep all the trump related lawsuits up at the federal level with Trump can issue pardons.

Certainly, Kav's approach to exec power is important but Gamble v. US is coming up this term and that's what driving the rushed timing. They want him there for that case.

4-4 won't get trump what he wants. he needs that 5th vote.
