(12,588 posts)81. Happily married for 34 years!
Met in 7th grade, dated steadily from 10th grade, married after college. We have a good bit in common: values, politics, support systems, work, hobbies, art, music., keeping active. It certainly doesnt seem like weve been together for 42 years. The time has flown by. After all these years, were still in love, best friends, coworkers, and partners.
Have two great kids: 24 and 18. The 18yo has found someone he said he hopes he can have a similar type of relationship with. Both hubby and I hope so, but were here to catch him if it doesnt work out.

OP
Almost 40 years and thankfully our only youthful drunken romps were consensual with each other

There are probably only two women ever born who would put up with me, even at my best.

He'd trade me in for the right guitar and I'd trade him in for the right first edition

I will not judge someone else's marriage by tv views when they are under immense stress.
