(27,670 posts)56. I resent the first question immensely.
"If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."
It is virtually impossible for economic globalization to ever serve humanity unless humanity evolves significantly. Economic globalization hinders human evolution by creating a global, unchallengeable plutarchy comprised of of evolutionarily regressive human beings who benefit from/by deliberately hindering human evolution.
Catch 22.
Natural selection in humans, which historically has occurred because of adaptation to natural physical circumstances, has been effectively aborted by global economic imperialism. Human beings, deliberately propagandized into submission, and believing that their survival is dependent on a malevolent, aggressive status quo, have lost all possibility of genuine mass self-determination, and lack the collective will to attain the critical mass necessary to rebel against, and usurp, the regressive, ruthless plutarchs who control their very existence to a very significant degree. Hence, significant, effective, progressive adaptation has become impossible.
We are, in general, rapidly devolving due to economic globalism.
Because of global economic imperialism, we have essentially become a world comprised primarily of slaves who lack the collective will to overthrow our masters and the force of their economic, and media controlled, subjection of us.
Only "Mother Nature" or an "act of God" can change this course now; in any event, simply because of its essential nature, economic globalization can never primarily serve human interests.
Marcos is correct. However, recent events have made it very clear that the dwarfs lack the courage and will to ever rebel in numbers significant enough to regain working democracy and collective and individual liberty.
The Scorpion and the Frog
A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the
scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The
frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion
says, "Because if I do, I will die too."
The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream,
the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of
paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown,
but has just enough time to gasp "Why?"
Replies the scorpion: "Its my nature..."

Marcos
The global power of the financial centers is so great, that they can afford not to worry about the political tendency of those who hold power in a nation, if the economic program (in other words, the role that nation has in the global economic megaprogram) remains unaltered. The financial disciplines impose themselves upon the different colors of the world political spectrum in regards to the government of any nation. The great world power can tolerate a leftist government in any part of the world, as long as the government does not take measures that go against the needs of the world financial centers. But in no way will it tolerate that an alternative economic, political and social organization consolidate. For the megapolitics, the national politics are dwarfed and submit to the dictates of the financial centers. It will be this way until the dwarfs rebel . .
