9. I had to leave messages in a couple of places, too.

When I got a real live person on the line after leaving a message in that office, I noted to the staffer on the phone that I was happy to talk to a real human rather than a voice mail prompt, because I didn't know whether the message I'd already left would ever get picked up, much less acknowledged. I was told, several times in several different offices, that "oh yes we check the messages. Definitely."

Leave word. Leave a mark on the massive organized hellbent attempt to rush this through.
