(797 posts)Depressing and discouraging things, after all, are all they have to offer.
But looking to November, it appears to me that the Rs will fal into three groups, in no particular order:
Those who have been energized by the Kavanaugh fight, and stay energized;
Those who have been energized by the fight but, when adrenaline stops flowing, become less engaged;
Those who go into a state of "Post-Christmas" depression: they've fought a vigorous, adrenaline-filled, battle...
and won the battle...
and find nothing changed.
Once Kavanaugh fades from the headlines, his place will be taken by Trump family crimes, Trump tax fraud, and always -- always -- Russia. In short, all the same things that were depressing them before. It's up to us to do what we can to make sure they are the ones who are depressed and discouraged.
And, above all, don't just get mad -- get even!
