(6,380 posts)The best way to nullify the SC is by making state elections a priority. The Governors and state legislators we have, the less likely we will have crazy state laws that we will need the SC for. Then we keep the challenges to the crazy shit down to a bare minimum.
Then the house is next. The House is attainable. The Senate may be a tough road. But the house...If we have the house, we have some leverage to introduce legislation that is important to everyday people. And we control whatever investigations we choose to undertake.
Then we are in a position in two years to go after the Senate and the president.
I get the court is fucked for a while. But if we have two of the branches of government, we can pass legislation to nullify some court decisions. The court typically defers to the legislature.
As far as Roe and Gay marriage go: Corporate America doesn't want either of these ruling overturned and given back to the states. It would put companies in the south at a disadvantage to attract new talent. Young workers aren't going to move to places that might pass draconian laws against gay people or reproductive rights.
But there is a lot on the table besides those two issues. Some things like consumer and some worker's rights are toast.
