Both countries are allies and there's the hugh US base in Doha, but these two countries are enemies of Iran. I'm sure the nuclear deal and the thawing of US relations with Iran concerned them. Trump was full on against the nuclear deal and, of course, Kushner is a big friend of Israel/Bibi. All 3 countries have a mutual enemy in Iran so having Trump elected was in their national interests.
