(22,718 posts)In 2010 the entire state of Wisconsin was controlled by the Democrats. In that year's midterms too many Democrats and those on the Left do what they so often do in midterms--they skipped voting. Since Democrats controlled the state there was no voter suppression. But Republicans voted like it was their duty and Scott Walker received nearly 90% of the vote that went to John McCain in 2008 while his opponent, Tom Barrett, only got around 65% of the vote that went to Obama.
As a result, Walker was elected and the state flipped to Republican control.
Since 2010 was a census year, the Republicans got to reapportion and gerrymander the state when they took over, assuring that they maintain their power. Then they set about passing a voter ID law and did whatever they could do to suppress the vote.
Choices and consequences. When too many on the Left choose not to vote, bad things happen as a result.
