WHO does this story benefit? Who would be the SOURCE in such a case? And WHY are they communicating with this reporter/these reporters NOW?

This story reeks of puffing up routine Secret Service work into a big deal designed to scare, galvanize, and energize right wingers/Trump humpers that there was a dastardly dangerous threat to their Dear Leader from those scary brown mooooslims.

Just in time for the midterm elections. Somehow even though supposedly this thing occurred back in 2017, it is only now making it into the news. A month before the midterms. Strange, right?
