(1,070 posts)First of all I stand up at attention and salute you proudly Colonel for your service to this country, my birthplace.
Secondly, my father was in the Korean War. As he always said "I was up on the front lines for fourteen months and twelve days" driving a tank ( I think in the battalion started by General Patton, do not quote me on that ). He was discharged at the rank of Corporal. He would not have been able to hold back much of his anger at that woman had he been in your place at that auto shop.
To this day when I see news reports of WW I, WW II, The Korean War, and the Vietnam War I feel a special patriotism. We also need to remember all of those military personnel that we lost in war, as well as supporting those that made it home.
My father died two years ago at the age of 86. MY family will always remember him.
