In reply to the discussion: Kornacki is officially "The Most Annoying Person On TV" [View all]calimary
(91,086 posts)163. I suspect it's probably management exhorting him to "HORSE RACE! HORSE RACE! STIR IT UP!"
Conflict and drama and stirring shit up gets ratings. I've heard some of the debates by the network programmers - who've admitted that predictable election results and certain outcomes don't leave people hanging on their television hour after hour, dying to find out who wins. When it's over at 8pm Pacific and the anchors call it a night early, no ratings. No excitement - even the manufactured kind. Nothing to show to the advertisers to up the ad rates. So damn contrived! I hate it, myself. But for me, it's mainly because I really value my low blood pressure, and I'd kinda like to keep it that way.

I thought it was only his frenetic body language, speech, and bearing that annoyed me but

I catch a lot of flak on here when I bring up how manipulative MSNBC is, in method and delivery.

I am a numbers guy too. I find his analysis partisan towards the GOP. His interpretation

That's what royally pisses me off, the whole dishonest "lack of messaging" shtick

His analysis of close races is not correct. They are within the margin of error and he adds opinion

You nailed it. He should just give us the numbers without all of the editorializing.

When I tune into MSNBC, I'm not looking to be entertained, but informed. Ari's trying to be both.

Is it possible that Melber is targeting a different demographic? And succeeding?

I can't stand him. Does Rachel "embrace" him willingly, or by contractual obligation?
