Make Election Day Election Week, and run it from the first Saturday after Independence Day to the next Friday.

Before that will be Primary Weekend, which will be the first weekend in April. Every state will do primaries that day.

And, most important, if we can’t get rid of the electoral college we change to a system where only a state’s House members are counted for the apportionment.
