20. It was nice to reminisce about it today. God, it felt so good, everything about it.

A friend of mine went to both the rally in Chicago and the Inauguration in DC and said, while the Inauguration was amazing, the rally in Chicago was even better. I wasn't alive in 1945, but from the photos of the VJ Day Celebration it felt like it might have been similar. There was so much hope, so much togetherness, so much relief. It felt like we'd finally turned a page after 8 long years of the Bush cabal.

Little did we know at the time that the racist fuckers in the GOP would be SO spiteful, so conniving, so treasonous and hateful, that instead of working for the people and doing what is best for the country, they'd spend the entire 8 years of Obama's presidency focused solely on bringing him down. And LOOK at what he accomplished despite all that. No (real) scandals, no laws broken, no indictments, the admiration of the world. He got an admittedly imperfect ACA passed, he turned around the economy, MARRIAGE EQUALITY... the list goes on. Can you IMAGINE what could have been accomplished if the GOP wasn't a cesspool of traitorous shit and bile?

I am not a particularly vengeful person. I am as peace-loving as any liberal you'll meet. But if I'm alive when 45, and Pence, and Ryan, and McConnell, and Graham die, I will travel wherever I need to go to dance and spit on their stinking graves.
