Because of the unusual hystrionics involved.

I have relatives who haven't voted for a Dem in 4 decades who are voting straight Democratic mirroring Steve Schmidt and what We see with the never Trumpers.

In AZ McSally is only polling 88% of Republicans. You cannot win elections when you are a) the minority party and b) get less than 90% of your own party.
