14. I think Bill Nelson took this race for granted early

Many of us in Florida were in disbelief that he waited so long to campaign. Now it looks like it may have burned him because exit polls indicate Hispanics favored Nelson only 55-44. That is pathetic, especially in comparison to Hillary's 62-35 edge in 2016.

As mentioned on 538 tonight, Rick Scott ran a Spanish language ad early in the campaign asking, "Quien es Bill Nelson? (Who is...)

The ad belittled Nelson but Nelson did not respond at all for months.

I hate late emphasis as opposed to getting the jump early. Granted, Rick Scott has so much money he can spend whenever he wants and how much he wants.
