It was reportedly a sting - so of course the police were involved. The charges weren't dismissed because some lawyer was hired... they were dismissed because the law didn't apply to a "performer" from out of town.

What possible connection are you implying in this case? Some female cop hit on him so that he would invite her to move in with him... then she could hit herself in the face and blame him? What would a sting even look like in this situation?

Let's make sure we're all got this clear. Avenatti says that the LAPD were hard working professionals who "had no option in light of the allegations"... but you say that they did have a choice but arrested him anyway because they were "in on it"???
