There are moderate republicans all over the place. Democrats just haven’t tried hard enough to reach them yet. They need to ignore the minorities and progressives of the party (they’re going to vote democrat no matter what, so it’s safe to ignore them), and really stick to status quo policy like increasing military spending, cutting social programs, and making sure corporations are profitable as possible.

Then come 2020, watch all these republicans come vote for democrats.
