42. Are people really impacted by ads?
Tue Nov 27, 2018, 12:01 PM
Nov 2018

I remember falling in love with the Buick Skyhawk in the early 1980s because of the ads (I graduated high school in 1981).

Well I graduated college in Dec. 1984, and i went looking to buy my first car in August of 1985. i remembered the Skyhawk ads and started there first. I also looked at the Chevy Cavalier (which is just a rebranded Skyhawk). I ended up with the Cavalier and saved $2K.

I thought the engineer who was making the same amount as me buying a Corvette was simply insane. He was really proud of that car though.
