In reply to the discussion: I'd vote for Amy Carter over Clinton's kid anyday [View all]Coyote_Bandit

Who cares? If Amy and Chelsea are not runing against each other seeking votes for public office then there is no need to compare their qualifications for office. Such comparison is simply irrelevant.
If the Clintons and the Obamas are able to work together to advance Democratic causes then perhaps Dems should quit perpetutating familial resentments. Hating Chelsea because she's a Clinton is an outdated agenda. Time to move on.
Perhaps this is an indictment of Dems who have not faced criminal charges for their political activism. I would imagine that likely includes the majority of DUers. It is possible to be deeply committed to Dem principles and to openly support Dem causes without committing criminal acts and facing criminal charges. Crossing that line can foreclose future opportunities and end careers. Condemning such folks seems a little ..... uh, for lack of a better term, ...... self-righteous.
Or maybe there is a hint of class resentment in this post. Both Amy and Chelsea had opportunities not available to most. Amy may have been a political protestor but eventually she went to work for Daddy. Chelsea went to work in the financial industry. Guess what? There are millions of Americans who work in the financial industry who are neither rich nor highly compensated - and there are several here who are long-time DUers. Believe it or not it is possible to work in the financial industry and be committed to Dem causes. Tens of millions of people earn their livlihood by offering goods and services to people who have far more financial resources than they. Chelsea got that financial services job because she had a minimum level of competence and carried the Clinton name and political connections. It's a "good job" to be sure - but you are mistaken if you believe she is entrusted with the power to make strategic or policy decisions. Like most, her labor is performed at someone else's bidding.
I'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt and assume that the implications of this post simply were not well thought out.
