32. There was a pretty concerted effort to rehabilitate Nixon's image in the 90s, and it sorta worked.

It wasn't that people tried to discount Watergate, but the idea was to highlight his policies, including what was a pretty decent environmental record. The irony was that Nixon would have won re-election in '72 without Watergate, without which he would have gone down as a fairly decent President. That will NEVER happen with Trump. He will only look worse as the years pass.
