(3,077 posts)I think more about the relationship he had with his wife Barbara. That was a long lasting and loving relationship. They were sweet together and always holding hands. I think part of him was lost when she passed. I love that she wore fake pearls and refused to dye her hair and he wore funny socks. I respect his military service and the classy letter he wrote Bill Clinton when he was elected President. I think sometimes we get soft or hard with age depending on the issue but even though I disagree with him politically, I can respect and appreciate the love he had for his wife and his family. Watching George eulogize his dad was heartbreaking. When he broke down and cried, I appreciated that raw moment of grief. It was powerful regardless of political affiliation.
