Heck, Spiro knew he was a crook before he took the office of Veep and continued to take bribes as Veep.
And on top of that, they both tried to obstruct justice by bugging the prosecutor and using his own brother (a Senator) to attempt to talk him out of it!
Almost Trumpian.
