(62,325 posts)do learn more of the facts. Looking at the reaction from around the world yesterday, online especially, the comments are more and more on the side of Assange, even from people who say they once believed the stories.
Ecuadorans eg, were overwhelmingly in support of their Government's decision.
And today, Ecuador called a summit of the OAS states to get a vote on the law Britain referenced as a possible means of removing their diplomatic status. I believe it is still going on. But so far, Chile, Honduras among others have stated they are fully in support of Ecuador's right to grant asylum as they did. I believe they are going to vote to support that right. Most expressed outrage at the British threat and Britain has now said they their letter 'was not a threat'. But no one is buying that.
