Being falsely accused of murdering someone would be awful - especially under the circumstances you describe in your dream, where there would potentially be some evidence connecting you to the crime (even though you didn't do it).

Also awful would be committing murder and getting away with it because people think you are a great guy and would never do anything like that due to being famous and well-liked in your field and there not being any credible-seeming witnesses or conclusive proof.
