(25,816 posts)8. I remember when Bush II tried to tie Social Security to the stock market.
Everyone here seemed to think it was a terrible idea, and it was and is.
But so many here tie their retirement funds to the market. Why? If it's a bad
idea for Social Security, why is it a good idea for your 401k?
I have zero stock, no portfolio. As I have mentioned here before, 90% of all
stock is owned by the top 10%. Most people do not own stocks.
It's a rich man's poker game. A gamble.
If you have a retirement plan that relies on the market, I believe you can
restructure the plan.
