(62,325 posts)those who oppose Wikileaks, are using women for political purposes. Naomi Wolf, who could never be accused of not standing up for women, in fact she has been slammed as a 'radical feminist' has spoken out on this case, along with Women's organizations. Few believe the faux claims of 'caring' about women. Just another instance of using women as tools in a big, political game which is despicable.
The CIA memo planning on 'involving Assange in a sex case' demonstrated how willing his political enemies are to use women as pawns in their dangerous games.
Not to mention how unconcerned these same, suddenly outraged individuals are over mere allegations, opponents of Assange, have zero interest in the Women of Iraq who were raped and tortured and who have received NO justice, many of them traumatized for life, some it is thought, having killed themselves. When it comes to those crimes, the same people will tell you to 'move on' because there is no way their rapists are going to be prosecuted. In fact a few of them have received 'medals of freedom'. When I see outrage again, as there was on the Left during the Bush years, rather than the sudden silence that has descended on these crimes, then those claiming outrage in this case, would have some credibility as to their concern for women.
