In reply to the discussion: What motivates the outrage over Julian Assange's Political Asylum? [View all]sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)19. Both women told very different stories about their consensual sexual
involvement with Assange, before the 'authorities' got involved. And the proof of that was on the internet, seen by millions of people, until it was erased. And from witnesses to whom they spoke. Most of it however was saved and will be produced in court IF the prosecution ever manages to have the courage to present their case in court.
The change in the stories, and we are not even sure who is speaking here, occurred after the case had been dismissed, but resurrected again by one of Sweden's most notorious, and questionable attorneys who is so far to the extreme left that he has met the extreme right in Sweden and formed an alliance for the purpose of 'getting' Assange.

You begin by mischaracterizing your opponent? One need not think of Assange as a "hero" to think

Great assessment. I'd stipulate also that there's also a great deal of misogyny

They are WRONG because the women themselves don't call it rape, nor want charges.

I agree, it is currently humiliating and degrading in an adversarial court system

If only "they" had a better record, it might not seem like such petty persecution.
