I usually say that it's been since the late 1970s, but they have been pulled kicking and screaming to do what's right even before that. They caused the Great Depression because of their economic policies. They have always been against anything that helped actual people. They railed - and continue to rail - against Social Secureity, Medicare, Medicaid, foodstamps, welfare, unemployment benefits, and even joining WW II.

There are only 3 Republicans worth remembering: Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Eisenhower. The rest of them are too filthy for mulch.
