(10,478 posts)of his alleged crimes, I was here at the time. I was under the impression that this was a liberal board and that tolerance for different opinions was part of the deal, although I have since learned that this is not the case. I often didn't agree with him, but his way of looking at things was and is certainly part of the existing political discourse.
As far as the used car salesman comment, that was an emotional comment made at an extreme moment that people choose to overreact to for reasons that escape me. I can only figure that people who were looking for a bludgeon to use against him saw what they decided was a handy weapon and decided to play dense when it came to the context.
If people who call themselves liberal decide to ride somebody out of town on a rail for expressing alternate liberal opinions, they should at least have the awareness not to gloat about it.
