while Bernie - or any other candidate - would have wiped the floor with Trump because he had no such baggage.

Like every other politician, Bernie has baggage - and he seems to have more than most. The fact that it wasn't thrown in his face was not evidence of his invincibility, but rather proof that they didn't take him seriously enough to bother using it against him.
