But here’s the thing: there was more than enough information publicly available so that no further investigation was necessary.

In other words, the powers-that-be in the GOP chose to look the other way when it came to everything that was already known about Trump, and then chose not to look any further – no doubt for fear of finding worse.

The bankruptcies, the hundreds of lawsuits, the fact that he couldn’t get loans from US bankers – all of that and more is a matter of public record.

The Republicans – knowing what they knew, along with what was easily found out – nominated him, supported him, and elected him.

Anyone who believes they did so with good intentions, or without motive, is dreaming.

Allowing Trump to run on their ticket was done with malice aforethought.
