12. You nailed it - bigotry over beliefs

Those little political "beliefs" he brought up were not his real beliefs. They were just little flags that could be waived in order to provide cover for his big overriding belief -- that Obama is a black man, and therefor couldn't possibly be allowed to take credit for anything good, nor avoid blame for anything bad.
