Under the same scenario, if the GOP picked up a couple of seats in 2022, they could remove Biden.

There's a pretty solid reason why it's 67. The framers wanted to ensure that it was exceedingly rare. They didn't anticipate that a party would ignore reality to acquit, but it would be far too easy for a party to remove someone on a political whim if the standard was a simple majority.
