I know someone who was in it as a child. She was homeschooled, not allowed contact with children outside of her church, etc.

One year at Halloween she went to the store with me to help my child pick out a costume. She was so excited because she'd never had a costume and wanted to help. Her family used to leave the light on Halloween night so when the kids would come trick or treating at her door her parents would make them hand out Chick Tracts and would offer to pray for the kids souls.

After hearing that story I knew what needed to be done. On Halloween I found a cheap plastic monster mask for her and we went trick or treating. She was 24.
