There's only so many parts in the script, and if you don't pass all the checkmarks of the casting director you don't get cast as the sympathetic Tragic Flower role. He thinks you just have to accept your part in the chorus line of Harlots, paying the wages of their sins.


They want a nice, comfy, uncomplicated world view, and they'll attack anyone who doesn't fit in the pigeonholes they have in their heads.
