31. Trumpy has no statutory protections

against getting an indictment. As of now, there is only an opinion that a president can’t. But never before has a president committed felonies to get elected. So this is new legal territory. That DOJ opinion presumes the investigation of crimes far less severe than conspiring with an adversary to win an election. This isn’t a common crime we’re dealing with. It’s the most severe of all federal felonies.
