7. Schumer is no Harry Reid

Some may have thought Reid as a wimp but the boxer in him meant he could pull a fake at the right time in order to wield his big boxing glove and throw a left hook to score.

IMHO, Schumer really does not have the full grasp of the obscure but often powerful rules of the Senate. He also has the unfortunate circumstance of where he is from (and any past dealings with the current occupant of the WH), as well as his past relationship with the somewhat slimey Steven Solarz.

I wish Leahy could have held this position although it's possible he declined. He is the Senate's most senior member (of either party) and even predates by a decade, the GOP's most senior tyrannical trio of Grassley, McConnell, and Shelby (although Shelby was originally a dixicrat and switched parties).
