20. Some serious investigations

could do a few things:

1. Get to the bottom of accusations;

2. Discourage some prospective ratfuckers if they know they may be investigated, found out, and held accountable for their defamatory lies;

3. Discourage some politicians and others from continuing to deny accusations they know to be true if they know they may be found out and have to face the music;

4. Maybe even do some preventive maintenance in keeping some bad actors from seeking the spotlight in the first place.

It might be worthwhile to solicit from Snopes, Politifact, etc., any recommendations they might have on how to go about investigating these kinds of things given limited time and resources.

It's just too easy to libel, slander, and propagate lies these days without consequences.
