Snip:
One of the most vocal opponents of Amazon's planned presence in Queens was Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whose congressional district borders the district that includes Long Island City.
"Anything is possible," she tweeted on Thursday in response to Amazon's decision. "Today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon's corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world."

Some constituents and some Everyday People defeated Amazon Them and several politicians, but mainly politicians as is proven in the polls. It most definitely was not a majority of New Yorkers, and most notably 70% of the African American community and 81% of the Latino Community were in favor of Amazon locating in New York. The only demographic that showed a negative toward Amazon coming to New York was the repuglican demographic. There are too many people here who want to push the narrative that the citizens of New York don't know what's good for them.
