I absolutely never said the women should be grateful for being kept locked up, I absolutely do not CONDONE what EITHER slavers ... did. I am IN NO WAY 'making a case' that what these fucks did was OKAY.

You are missing my point entirely.

My post was operating on the assumption that the women were not physically kidnapped, but rather, talked into coming to the US by these traffickers. Because generally speaking that it what turns out to be the case in these scenarios.

My point is ... you wouldn't be able to talk women into doing this ... if the conditions and opportunities in the place they already are ... weren't TOTAL SHIT.

I really don't see how this is such an egregious thing to point out.

Look, what these men did, with regards to keeping the women locked up, essentially, is a HORRIFIC CRIME, in and of itself, regardless of whether the women expected to be doing sex work. Also, however ... it would be notably MORE HORRIFIC ... if the women were first kidnapped, chained, and throw into cargo holds for a journey overseas, like the US slavers did.
