Ivanka Trump challenges Ocasio-Cortez platform, says Americans don't want 'guaranteed minimum'

“I don’t think most Americans, in their heart, want to be given something. I’ve spent a lot of time traveling around this country over the last 4 years. They want the ability to live in a country where’s there’s the potential for upward mobility.”

It's 100% clear she has no idea what she is talking about OR she does and she doesn't care. Let me tell you all something, I was actually unemployed for a long period of time, about 4 years in fact, the same time Ivanka claims she was traveling around the country. It wasn't a fun time, it wasn't some magical gap period. I was trying, desperately, to find work, any work, I was fine with minimum wage, zero benefit, some travel required, nada. I don't know what it was, but I had no luck period.

I wish there was this "guaranteed minimum" back then; it was a period of humiliation, of dreading every phone call and of the future, of anxiety trying to find out what happened with the hundreds of jobs I applied to, I had a girlfriend back then and I wanted to give her the world but there were times I couldn't even buy her breakfast, I'm still playing catch-up "upward mobility"-wise I know it, and I overcompensate way too hard at every job where I'm underpaid anyway, so I'm wracked with pain giving 110% because I want managers to love me for jobs I'm overqualified for.

At least with her father, even his supporters claim he's not refined, that he doesn't know everything political. Ivanka comes in and she says she's going to be a voice of moderation in the White House, that she's going to have the ear of Daddy. She claims to have wisdom, but she doesn't. At least with Daddy, he's rude and crass up front, her rudeness and crassness comes with the aftertaste. She hides her traits behind a pearly white grin. She talks about "upward mobility" when she was born at the finish line, where does she get off?

Say what you will about Donald Trump, but I say with this last comment, his horrible qualities are refined in his daughter.
