(58,785 posts)Turns out she was being misunderstood before she ran for congress. There's a pattern here.
So her district elected someone whose statements occasionally smell of antisemitism? Not great, but she represents the people who elected her, not the Democratic Party as a whole. Except when she punches the Republicans in the nose for the right reasons, or something close to.
But she's far left (and possibly right, tbd), and I think we should get used to her also being a nuisance for the Democratic mainstream and not wig out every time it happens. The press are now clustered around her, eager for each new controversial pearl from her photogenic lips, and she's apparently eager to meet her destiny.
Meanwhile, as always, the real problem is on the right, and it's huge. Muslims and Jews killing each other is seen as foreordained by most. Some loathe both and delight. Most don't care that much but are 100% behind Jews holding a state in the Middle East for Christians to eventually take over. And that's what this is really about. Religious wars, potentially planetwide rivers of blood, over whose god gets what if sensible people don't get a leash on these types.
