It's entirely possible to think people are being ridiculous without hating them.
And let's not pretend this is normal behavior. It's weird as hell what they're doing. You know, lots of people here have lived through disasters, natural or man-made, and have had friends and neighbors die as a result. I wonder how many of them were inspired by their experience to run out and ask a disgusting creature like Trump to autograph their religious items? I suspect the number is zero.
