Record to show voters? Nothing they want to admit to.
Intelligence? Good judgment? Good ideas that actually work? Signs of life between the ears? None that anyone can see.
Candidates with accomplishments worth touting? Puh-leeeze!
Candidates of good character? heh heh heh.

That leaves lies and smears.
