In reply to the discussion: I do not like springing forward - it sucks. [View all]janx
(24,128 posts)46. I think it depends on what kind of schedule you have.
Many people tend to like more light in the evening. They may well be people who don't have to get up at 5:00 or so to get to work, the way I do. I'm away from home for 12 hours three days a week and work in the home office on the other two days.
I don't like going to work in the dark. When I come home, I'm wiped, so I'm not anxious to kayak or tackle yard work at that time. Seriously, when I get home after a 9 hour workday and a lengthy commute, the last thing I'm going to do is to fire up the BBQ and frolic in the yard.
Similarly, working parents with school-age kids would probably appreciate more light in the mornings since they have to get themselves to work and their kids to school.
Keep it on standard time year-round.

It does suck. Silver lining, you get an extra hour of sunlight in the evening!

WWI Kaiser Wilhelm did it to save fuel, not farms. 100 years later he is still messing with us...nt

Most respectfully disagree. Yes, the clock-forward switch is tougher than clocks-back, BUT...

I prefer keeping it on DST and having more sunlight in the evenings year round.
